Man Charged With Reckless Driving After Car Hits Rock Wall In New Canaan

A Westchester County man is facing charges in Connecticut after allegedly driving recklessly, losing control of his car and driving into a rock wall, according to police in New Canaan.

Shortly before 1 a.m. on Feb. 10, officers from the New Canaan Police Department were dispatched to the area of Oenoke Ridge Road and Saint Marks Church, where there was a report of a single-vehicle crash that left the driver with injuries.

Upon arrival at the crash scene, police said that officers observed the vehicle at rest int he northbound lane of Oenoke Ridge Road, facing southbound. Further investigation into the crash determined that the driver, Mamaroneck resident Maury Thibault, 32, had struck the rock wall, and continued after impact back onto Oenoke Ridge Road.

According to police, Thibault was transported to the Norwalk Emergency Room for evaluation, and he was later charged with a misdemeanor count of reckless driving. He surrendered to police custody on the active arrest warrant over the weekend and has since been released on $5,000 bond. Thibault is due back in New Canaan Justice Court later this year to answer the charge.
